so'yamātmādhyakṣaramoṅkāro'dhimātraṃ pādā mātrā mātrāśca pādā akāra ukāro makāra iti ||
This same Self, with reference to the syllable, is Om. With reference to the mātrās, the quarters are the measures and the measures are the quarters: A, U, and M.
