श्यामलां सरलां सुस्मितां भूषितां
धरणीं भरणीं मातरम् ॥
वन्दे मातरम् ॥
śyāmalāṃ saralāṃ susmitāṃ bhūṣitāṃ dharaṇīṃ bharaṇīṃ mātaram || vande mātaram ||
I bow to the Mother: dark-hued, simple and pure, beautifully smiling, adorned; the earth, the nourisher, the Mother. Vande Mātaram.
